1. Introduction

SkyLocation is a privacy-first utility app designed to show your location quickly using your device's built-in GPS capabilities.

Your privacy is a core design principle of SkyLocation. The iOS app is built to function without transmitting your location data off your device. Detected locations are saved automatically in Location History on your device and never leave it. Android data practices are declared separately in Google Play and may differ until the Android 5.0 parity update.

2. Data Collection

The iOS app does not transmit your personal data to us or any server.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• No account required; no user data sent to us
• No location data sent to us or to any server
• No device identifiers (such as IP address or device ID)
• No analytics, telemetry, tracking, or advertising data

3. Use of Location Services

The iOS app uses your device's location services locally and in real time to display information such as:

• Latitude and longitude
• Altitude
• Speed
• Nearest city and country

All location data:

• Is processed only on your device
• Is never transmitted to external servers
• Is never sent to the developer or third parties on its own — it leaves your device only if you choose to share it
• Your Location History automatically saves detected locations to your device only, and you can delete them at any time

You can grant, deny, or revoke location access at any time through your device's system settings.

4. Data Storage and Transmission

The iOS app does not:

• Transmit your data to external servers
• Use cloud services or synchronization
• Create user accounts or profiles
• Store your data anywhere other than your own device

Your Location History automatically records detected locations to local storage on your device only, and you can delete them at any time. The app functions fully offline and does not require an internet connection.

5. Third-Party Services

The iOS app does not use:

• Analytics services
• Advertising networks
• Tracking frameworks
• Third-party SDKs that collect data

The iOS app never sends your data to third parties on its own; data leaves your device only when you choose to share it.

6. User Control

You remain fully in control of your data at all times.

The iOS app does not send your personal location data off your device, so there is no app location profile held on our side to access, export, or delete. Your Location History and anything else the app saves live only on your device. You can delete them there whenever you want.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

If SkyLocation's functionality changes in a way that affects privacy or data handling, this privacy policy will be updated accordingly.

Any updates will be published on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.

8. This Website

Everything in sections 1 to 7 describes the mobile app. This website is a separate surface.

The website stores a strictly necessary NEXT_LOCALE cookie to remember whether you selected English or German. It is not used for advertising or analytics.

The website uses Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate page-view reporting. Vercel Web Analytics is designed to work without analytics cookies and is not used to track you across unrelated websites. The website does not receive or process your app Location History.

Vercel may process technical request and service data such as an IP address, browser, device, route, and time of access to provide hosting and analytics. Vercel's current privacy notice and data-processing terms apply to that processing. We do not use this data to build a location profile.
