Choose the right export first

Method 1: copy the transparent PNG
- Open the Location Pass share picker.
- Choose Transparent 3D Pass.
- Tap Copy Transparent PNG.
- Open the Story or design workflow where you want the card.
- Paste the card, then resize and position it over your photo or video.
Method 2: save the pass to Photos
Choose Save to Photos when you want the generated pass in your library before opening another app. SkyLocation requests Apple's add-only Photos permission for this action. Apple's PHAccessLevel.addOnly documentation describes this access level as permission to add to the photo library. SkyLocation does not read your existing photos.

The Photos prompt appears when you choose Save to Photos, so the reason for the request is clear and user initiated.
Why transparency can disappear
PNG supports transparency, but every destination app decides how it imports, compresses, or converts the file. Some direct share routes may place the PNG on a solid background. Instagram and other social apps can change this behavior without notice, so no workflow can promise alpha preservation forever.
- ▶If direct sharing adds a frame, use Copy Transparent PNG and paste it as an overlay.

- ▶If the app still flattens transparency, choose the Ready-made 4:5 Post. It is designed to look complete without alpha.
A cleaner Story composition
Keep the pass away from Story interface controls, leave clear space around the place name, and scale it so coordinates remain readable. The slight 3D angle creates separation without needing a device frame or heavy drop shadow.
